We chatted to Massimo Tirimacco, The National Ambassador of L’Oréal Pro, award-winning hairdresser, most influential stylist, a creative king on the tools, on why we should switch out the hot tools and try styling with the L’Oréal Steampod!
From the styling king himself - Tell us about your incredible hairdressing journey, and why you chose this career.
I started hairdressing when I was 15, I was inspired by these two great guys who were my mum's hairdressers. One day they asked me to come help out in the salon and from there haven't looked back. I always wanted to get involved and they gave me the opportunity to get on the floor ad be a part of the team. From a young age they allowed me to use my creativity and push myself to get to where I am now!
Why do you love working with the L’Oréal Steampod?
As a creative stylist, I want to master every tool. So when I was given the opportunity to be an ambassador for Steampod - I really wanted to understand the tool and ensure it was going to perform at a high standard. However, in all honesty I was not expecting the results it gives you compared to other tools. The Steampod is amazing just from how it makes the hair feel so glossy.
What does the Steampod do that other hot tools can’t?
What the Steampod has that other hot tools don’t have, is the instant ability to make dry hair look glossy and hydrated! The power of steam is really the key, rehydrating the hair. Now because we are simply obsessed with the looks that you create – We'd love to know, where do you source your creative inspiration from?
I am always inspired by the passion to be creative and innovative. I am inspired by beautiful polished hair. I would say it's an element of wanting perfectionism, and inspired to achieve the glossiest hair. Inspiration changes, fashion is always a flavour - it's always what suits the person and the face shape.
What’s your biggest achievement in your hairstyling career?
Winning the Global L'Oréal Style & Colour Trophy in 2020 is a clear stand out - to compete in the longest running hairdressing competition in the world, and to win is such an honour. Aside from that I feel so thankful and blessed to work in a beautiful salon space that my wife and I created together, designing the space to be a reflection of us really means a lot!

What’s your fave hair trend at the moment?
Loving a hot hair cut! A really hot chop will never be a trend but seeing all these beautiful young people rocking a short natural chop is a fave! Think Lara Worthington hair
What’s a styling hack that everyone needs to know about?
Less product the better! Trust me, don’t over think it! The L'Oréal Professionnel LISS CONTROL for blowdry prep is amazing - anti-static and locks down those fly aways, I cant stand fly aways so this is a must have. Partner this with L'Oréal Professionnel AirFix Hairspray - this is the best finish hairspray it is so light. These 2 are all you will need!
